The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Mumbai today and selected the probables for the Indian team to represent at the ICC Cricket World Cup to be played in Australia / New Zealand in Feb – March 2015.
The BCCI on Thursday selected its 30-man World Cup probables list. Where there was some good news for the youngsters, discarded veterans – Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh were not considered for the prestigious event.
Eleven players from the 2011 World Cup-winning squad will not be seen in action when the team goes Down Under to defend the trophy.The new list means only four cricketers – MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Ravichandran Ashwin have been retained. While announcing its 30-man World Cup probables list for world cup 2015, the BCCI selectors ended hopes of its 2011 World Cup stars Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan.
